The irony of Greek wines is that they are new to so many people but are where some of the first grapes and wines were ever cultivated. The Alexakis wines are made in Crete, one the country's biggest islands and honestly, absolutely stunning. I got sent there for a summer when I was eleven and it was life changing. This is made from Assyrtiko, which is probably the most famous greek white wine mostly because its so delicious and relatable to a sauvignon blanc loving palate.
