Pinot Grigio gets a bad rap. Some people absolutely adore it. They crave it. Can’t live without it. While others see it as a less serious varietal that can be accompanied with an eye roll. Corte Falco is making pinot grigio look real good. And cool. And craveable. It’s fresh and light,  but don’t let the screw cap fool you, what's in the bottle is awesome. Pinot Grigio is chic. It's beloved worldwide. Its origins date back in time to Burgundy in France, under the name of Pinot Gris, Grigio's ancestor. Pinot Gris is a mutation of Pinot Noir, and it retained some pink fur or reddish hue to its skins. Pinot Grigio technically can macerate on its skins and gain a little bit of color (if there are several days of contact we call that style a Ramato.) But in the 1960s the world’s most famous Pinot Grigio producer, Santa Margarita, pioneered making an untinted fresh style pinot grigio. Not crazy about Santa Margarita AT ALL, but they did inspire the reality of this wine right here.  It’s Venetian greatness. This wine is not only made biodynamically, it is peppered with green notes that lean the wine out and add a fabulous zip to it. It's not easy to find a wine like this, one that is pleasant but also has layers and isn’t just one dimensional.
