Made in Austria, on the outskirts of Burgenland, Stefan’s parents own this cool vineyard site and honestly I think the way the Gruner is expressing from the terroir here is so interesting and delicious. Gruner Veltliner is most commonly associated with being grown in Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic. The grape goes way back in time, seems to have been around since Roman times but originated in Austria. It appears that Gruner was created when Savagnin crossed with a super obscure Austrian varietal that no one pays attention to. But thus: We have gruner. The grapes are grown in limestone rubble, which is the best kind of rubble btw, and the domaine practices biodynamics.
