Chartogne-Taillet
Chartogne-Taillet, Sainte Anne, Chardonnay/Pinot Noir/Pinot Meunier, NV
A lot of times when you have a Champagne the vintage is labeled as NV for Non Vintage, but a majority of times the base wine has a good amount of age on it, it's just being blended with younger wines. This wine has the three cousins of Champagne dreams as I like to call them: Chardonnay, Pinot noir and Pinot Meunier. Alexandre is at the helm and is considered one of the rising stars of Champagne and honestly it shows in this bottle. Remember, to be a Champagne you need to be from Champagne, the name is a geographical reference to where the grapes are grown in France. This wine is elegant, dry, creamy, smooth, really impressive and the perfect way to celebrate the positivity of spring!
